(St. Gerard Majella): "Beloved brothers of Mine, I, Gerard, servant of God and of the Mother of God, rejoice to come to you once again today.
Pray, pray, pray with the heart, prayer with the heart will make you grow more and more in the true love of God, in the true love for the Blessed Virgin Mary and will give you the inner strength to fulfill all the virtues. With the prayer of the heart your faith will become strong, you must pray every day with the heart for the increase of your faith, for the strengthening of your faith, so that it will be similar to the faith of the Virgin Mary herself, of the Mother of God, who at all times had an unbreakable faith in the Lord, in Her Divine Son Jesus Christ, especially when the trials of contrary appearances presented themselves to Her. As She fled to Egypt with St. Joseph to save the life of the Child Jesus, though seeing Her tiny son persecuted, threatened by a mortal king, She nevertheless believed that He was the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, and the One who rules all, preserves all, and keeps all.
You must have a faith similar to that of the Virgin Mary, especially in times of suffering, so that then your response in the face of pain, sorrow and affliction is not despair, but faith. Pray, therefore, with your heart, that your faith may increase and strengthen to the point of becoming heroic like that of the Blessed Virgin.
I too can and want very much to help you increase and strengthen your faith, because I too have been tested many times with the trial of contrary appearances, with tribulations and setbacks, and at all times I have had to exercise the virtue of faith, patience and perseverance, which achieve all things, bear all things, overcome all things, and make the soul possess all things. By the virtue of faith, by the virtue of perseverance, of constancy in faith, you will possess your souls, and also millions of other souls, you will conquer and possess in God.
To all of you, at this moment, I, Gerard, bless you generously, and again I tell you: Be zealous in everything you do, in prayer, in the cleanliness of your homes, in the organization of the place where you live, in your own way of dressing, of behaving, of working, in everything be zealous, applied, orderly, be in everything dedicated and helpful so that no one will have a complaint about you and so that your good example will lead others also to be zealous, orderly, dedicated, helpful and perfect in everything they do, for he who is perfect in little is also perfect in much.
